TriGeo Network Security Positioned in Visionaries Quadrant for 2006 Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management

June 5th, 2006

TriGeo Network Security today announced that it has been listed in the ´Visionaries´ quadrant of Gartner, Inc.´s May 12, 2006 ´Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management, 1H06.´

The research, conducted by Mark Nicolett, Amrit Willams and Paul Proctor, examined over 19 organizations and evaluated the vendors based on their ability to meet the increasing need for regulatory compliance as well as their ability to provide real-time awareness of both external and internal threats. The report states that the SIEM market remains fragmented with no dominant vendor.

TriGeo was placed in the “visionaries” quadrant based on an evaluation of the company´s completeness of vision and ability to execute.

“We are pleased to be one of two companies positioned in the visionaries quadrant and view this inclusion as independent validation of our mid-market strategy,” said Michelle Dickman, President, TriGeo Network Security. “TriGeo solves critical compliance and security issues for these organizations, and offers ground-breaking automated-response capabilities. This combination is critical in organizations that don´t have the luxury of 24/7 security operation centers.”

The TriGeo SIM has the unique ability to actively defend the network through highly targeted correlation rules, behavior analysis and integration with network infrastructure. The defensive arsenal includes the ability to quarantine, block, route and control services, processes, accounts and privileges.

The Gartner report defines SIEM technology as delivering two basic capabilities: Security Information Management (SIM) and Security Event Management (SEM). SIM provides reporting and analysis and supports IT security, audit and compliance functions. SEM relates to real-time analysis assisting security incident response and is used by IT security personnel tasked with responding to internal and external threats. The report estimates that 70 percent of current SIEM buyers need both capabilities within a single system.

“TriGeo was designed to provide a balance of both SIM and SEM functions,” added Dickman. “Our mid-market customers deploy TriGeo to meet regulatory requirements, but also to extend their IT staff with a tool that provides network security and network management functions.”

TriGeo targets the mid-market with an award-winning product that combines real-time log analysis, event correlation, USB detection and prevention with powerful active response technology. TriGeo SIM is both a unique network defense technology and an “Audit-Proven” compliance solution that meets the security monitoring and log management requirements imposed by PCI, GLBA, NCUA, FDIC, HIPAA, SOX and related compliance initiatives.
