Skybox Security and Internet Security Solutions Enter into Technology Alliance

June 14th, 2006

Skybox(R) Security, Inc., the leader in Security Risk Management (SRM), and Internet Security Solution (ISS), the leader in preemptive enterprise security, today announced the formation of a technology alliance to bring clarity to customers´ network security postures and create more efficient risk management processes.

Driven by customer demand, the technology alliance encompasses three distinct components: product integration between the Skybox View(TM) suite and the ISS Proventia(R) Network Enterprise Scanner, ISS Proventia Management SiteProtector(TM) and ISS Proventia Network Intrusion Prevention System (IPS); sales referrals; and joint marketing cooperation.

Over the past two years, IT Security Risk Management (IT SRM) has emerged as the complete process of understanding threats, quantifying risk, prioritizing vulnerabilities, auditing security controls and reducing unnecessary patches through a continuously refreshed security risk profile. According to IDC estimates, the IT SRM market is expected to grow from $328 million in 2005 to $500 million in 2007.

“We are pleased to offer organizations a powerful one-two punch as part of their Security Risk Management deployments,” said Gidi Cohen, chief strategy officer for Skybox Security. “By tightly integrating vulnerability assessment with security risk modeling and simulation technology, enterprises can more quickly and accurately pinpoint the most critical vulnerabilities on their network, recommend the most efficient remediation steps, and continually refine the configuration of security controls.”

“Skybox View´s unique virtual modeling and simulation capability, when used in combination with ISS´s Enterprise Scanner and SiteProtector, allows enterprises to better quantify security risks as well as create actionable intelligence that drives better decision making,” said Greg Adams, vice president, product management of ISS.
