Check Point Simplifies Remote Office Security Technology Without Increasing Risk

April 25th, 2006

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, demonstrates the new VPN-1 Edge UTM appliance with ADSL at this year´s InfoSecurity Europe.

The VPN-1 Edge UTM appliance now complements the industry´s most advanced security and management functionality with greater wireless support and integrated ADSL modem, to ensure simple yet strong security for the branch office.

Nick Lowe, Regional Director for UK, Ireland and South Africa at Check Point, explains, “There are a number of good UTM appliance technologies on the market, but most forfeit functionality in order to simplify deployment and therefore increase the risk of breaches. However, our new VPN-1 Edge with ADSL centralises security management and delivers the same security as

found in large Global 500 companies. Protection is not compromised and the technology is easy-to-use.”

VPN-1 Edge includes firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention and anti-virus in one easy-to-manage solution. It enables organisations to implement new wireless services as they become available and expand remote and branch office networks without the hassle and cost of extending wiring. With Check Pointâ„–s Unified Security Architecture, VPN-1 Edge offers the industry´s most advanced end-to-end management, to unify security from the smallest office to the largest data centre. Administrators can easily control their entire security infrastructure from a single point, reducing the cost and complexity of provisioning branch offices.

The latest release of VPN-1 Edge being demonstrated at InfoSecurity Europe now includes advanced ADSL technology* and offers integrated support for wireless LAN access points and print servers.
